Lalalimola: Piwi & Bowi illustrator.

Q: How did you begin your collaboration with Sonia Kids project?
A: The Project Managers contacted me through APIV (Valencia Illustrators Professional Association). I found the idea brilliant and funny.

Q: Piwi & Bowi are the characters created for Kids. Can you introduce them to us? What personality do they each have?
A: Piwi & Bowi are two opposite characters but at the same time complementary.
Piwi the penguin is more spontaneous. He likes to indulge his creativity… he is nut.
Bowi the bear is more responsible. He cares about his personal image and that everything is in place.
In this theater, the penguin represents the kid stage role and the bear the parent stage role.

Q: Which is your favorite?
A: Clearly Piwi is more fun but Bowi has small details that I love like his pink pig shoes or his flower bathing cap.

Q: And which do you think will be the favorite of children?
A: Probably Piwi the penguin because children will identify with his freshness and spontaneity.

Q: How would you define the artwork style you have done for Kids?
A: We tried to create modern characters avoiding the stereotypes of these animals. Simplified in form but more sophisticated with colors. The scenarios that represent the products are pretty contemporary and the characters must be integrated into each scenario.

Q: Kids project is also a comic. Can you tell us something about it?
A: The comic has a didactic function. Using universal images we teach children about personal hygiene.
Along with the comic aspect Bowi teaches Little Piwi about the right use of the bathroom and the hygienic habits.

Q: What do you think about Sonia Kids Project in their approach to the little ones?
A: I think specialization and differentiation are keys for a brand. I found Sonia’s commitment to this new line very innovative. And also the image of the product is contemporary. The product is adapted to children but adapts as the children start growing up. The collection is so neutral than when children become teenagers or adults we can use it as well.

Q: Will there be more Kids surprises in the future?
A: No doubt! Piwi & Bowi have a lot of stories to tell! And we are working on the next “lessons”!
